A unique IPL record of Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya

New Delhi : In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the Pandya brothers, namely Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, are showcasing their brilliance. Both brothers have taken charge of two new teams. In this way, the Pandya brothers have achieved a unique record in IPL history, which no one has been able to accomplish so far. The combination of Hardik and Krunal has become the first pair of brothers to captain in IPL history.

In fact, two new teams entered the IPL from the 2022 season. These teams are the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In the very first season, Hardik Pandya was appointed as the captain of the Gujarat team. As an explosive all-rounder, Hardik led Gujarat to become champions in the inaugural season.

Gujarat franchise signed Hardik for 15 crores rupees, while spin all-rounder Krunal Pandya was bought by the Lucknow team for 8.25 crores rupees. Krunal was also appointed as the vice-captain of the team, while the command of the team was handed to KL Rahul.

Now, this IPL 2023 is the second season for both Gujarat and Lucknow. In this season, the Lucknow team played their 9th match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 1st. During that match, KL Rahul got injured and was ruled out of the tournament. As a result, he was replaced as captain by Krunal.

Earlier, both Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya used to play for Mumbai Indians. Their fortunes changed after they parted from the MI team in IPL.
