IPL 2023 final saw a lot of ups and downs before the result came out. The CSK vs GT final game was scheduled to be played on May 28, 2023, but the game was impacted by heavy rainfall and it was shifted to the reserve day, the rain again played a spoilsport and the match was reduced to 15 overs via DLS.

Rain played a spoilsport in the second innings as Chennai came to bat; just after three balls the rain started lashing the ground and the game was halted.
Later, the game was reduced to 15 overs and the chasing total was reduced to 171 runs for Chennai.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) and Devon Conway (47) laid the foundation for the chase with their swift partnership. Later, Ajinkya Rahane contributed 27 runs, while Ambati Rayudu added 19 runs, providing valuable support and reducing the pressure.
When Ambati Rayudu was dismissed, there were 22 runs needed off 14 balls. At this crucial moment, MS Dhoni, the skipper of CSK, stepped in as the sixth batsman but unfortunately got out without scoring a run by Mohit Sharma.
The chase intensified as it came down to the wire, with only 10 runs required off two balls. Mohit Sharma, who had been bowling consecutive yorkers, had almost bagged the game for his team. But, in a thrilling turn of events, Ravindra Jadeja, batting on 15 not out, struck a six over long-on and followed it up with a four, securing victory and clinching the title for their team.

With the win, Chennai Super Kings has equalled the total number of IPL titles with Mumbai Indians. Both the teams have 5 IPL titles on their name.
