Hyderabad : It seems Indian Premier League matches at Hyderabad are in limbo. From last two months, Hyderabad Cricket Association staffs are on strike due to non payment of dues.

With Sunrisers Hyderabad winning the title in 2016, the city is scheduled to host the opening fixture of the 10th edition on April 5, preceded by an opening ceremony. The city has been also allotted the final of the tournament, to be played on May 21.

However, the failure of the cash-strapped board to disburse salaries has led over 120 employees, including groundsmen, to go on strike since the first week of March.

HCA's argument in the mess has been that the BCCI has not disbursed funds to them, without which they are unable to pay their employees. A similar situation had come up right before the India-Bangladesh Test, held earlier in February.

The shifting of matches away from Hyderabad will not be an unprecedented move. In IPL 2010, the Hyderabad side played in Mumbai and Nagpur, owing to the Telangana movement that had caused a lot of unrest in the city.
