IPL 2019: Showering kisses as Dhoni fixes final battle against Mumbai Indians

Chennai : Mahendra Singh Dhoni was greeted with unlimited kisses from the little munchkin Ziva as he returned after scoring a win against Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2.

‘Daddy’ Dhoni had a gift given by a fan of his statue, he was showing it to the ever-so-adorable Ziva and that is when the little one got adorably playful and started pulling her father’s nose and kissing Dhoni.

Chennai Super Kings will now face Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2019 Final. Delhi Capitals scored 147 runs against the CSK in Qualifier 2. The opening stand of Faf and Watson set the tone with an 80-run-stand. Faf du Plessis bagged the man of the match for his 50 off 39 balls. Watson too slammed a fifty of 32 balls.

“We spoke about it before the game – didn’t have the best run in the last 5-6 games. We have a lot of confidence as a team to win a lot of big games – so we draw confidence from that. From the previous games, the guys were playing some great shots up front. But it wasn’t the same kind of wicket. We also know the strength of ours is getting those partnerships – even if we go 3-4 overs without runs, we have a great lower and middle order to bring us back,” said du Plessis at the post-match presentation.

“The spinners got more turn because of that. The bowling effort was brilliant, and we kept it in the right areas, not allowing Delhi to get a big score. It’s important to get their openers out – their batting line-up is really strong and they have many left-handers and we have a left-arm spinner to negate them,” said Dhoni after the match.

With the win, CSK has become the second team to win 100 IPL matches after Mumbai Indians.
