IPL 2020 may happen in August-September

New Delhi : With the growing coronavirus outbreak, there is a very slight chance that Indian Premier League 2020 edition may get green signal; but BCCI has not made any decision and planning a possible window between August and September.

Earlier, the BCCI has postponed the IPL 2020 till April 15 in wake of coronavirus outbreak and lockdown in the nation. They will be taking any decision only after this window.

The BCCI, as part of its contingency plans, has kept open the option of rescheduling the IPL any time between late August and early October (before the T20 World Cup in Australia). This would be possible only if the disease is contained in next four months.

"We are closely monitoring the situation, and we will take a call accordingly. We are looking at a window in August-September," Hindustan Times quoted a BCCI official who didn't wish to be named.

As per the original schedule, India are to play the Asia Cup in September, host England for three ODIs and three T20s. Before going into the T20 World Cup, India are also scheduled to play three T20Is in Australia.
