IPL 2023: KKR's Rinku Singh smashes 5 sixes in a row to stun Gujarat Titans

New Delhi : '6,6,6,6,6'… and KKR wins the game against Gujarat Titan – this is exactly what happened yesterday when Rinku Singh smashed 5 sixes in a row to stun Gujarat Titans and when the game for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 13th IPL 2023 game. The game was played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium and was the last ball thriller.

In the final over, Kolkata Knight Riders needed 29 runs to win the game while chasing the massive 205-run target set by Gujarat Titans. Rinku Singh then came to the rescue and smashed 5 consecutive sixes, scoring 2 runs more than the required.

Pacer Yash Dayal was at the receiving end of the final over when he bowled his first call to Umesh Yadav, who took a single and placed Rinku Yadav on the batting strike. At that time, KKR needed 28 runs on the 5 deliveries.

Yash bowled a wide full toss and Rinku reached out to smoke it over the extra covers. The scenario was changed to 22 runs off 4 balls from there. Then Yesh again delivered a full toss and this time on the pads, Rinku Yadav whipped it over the backward square leg for second successive maximum.

Yash then bowled 3rd full toss and again Rinku resulted it in the same manner to a 6 over long off. Rashid Khan immediately rushed to speak with Yash and calm him down for the 4th delivery.  After 3 full tosses, Yash went for a shot of the length slower one but Rinku was ready to smash it over the boundary.

Then came the last delivery, which was again a slower one from Yash, but the result was same as Rinku finished off the traumatic run chase in a style.

In the game, Rinku slammed 48 runs in just 21 balls which included 6 sixes and a boundary.
