New Delhi : Despite Mitchell Marsh delivering an exceptional all-round performance, it wasn't sufficient to secure a victory for Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL match held on Saturday. Sunrisers Hyderabad triumphed with a convincing nine-run win.

The aggressive Australian all-rounder showcased his skills by claiming four wickets and launching six maximums in a quick-fire knock of 63 runs from 39 balls, instilling hope of a successful chase. However, once Marsh departed, the hosts' fortunes took a turn for the worse on the slow Kotla pitch.

Opting to bat first, Sunrisers' Abhishek Sharma smashed a brisk 67 off just 36 deliveries, setting the stage for Heinrich Klaasen to provide a finishing touch with an unbeaten 53. Their contributions propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to an impressive total of 197 for 6.

In response, Delhi Capitals suffered an early setback as their captain David Warner was dismissed without scoring on just the second delivery. However, Philip Salt (59) and Mitchell Marsh counterattacked, forming a formidable 112-run partnership off only 66 balls. Their partnership laid a strong foundation for Delhi's run chase.

Requiring 69 runs from 36 balls, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) applied pressure on Delhi Capitals (DC), restricting them to 188 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Axar Patel played a quick innings, contributing 29 runs off just 14 balls.

This victory ended Sunrisers Hyderabad's three-match losing streak, allowing them to stay in contention in the competition. They currently occupy the eighth position with six points, while Delhi Capitals remain at the bottom of the standings.
