New Delhi : Wrestler Bajrang Punia made India proud on Friday with a smashing Gold medal as he defeated Canada's Lachlan McNeil 9-2. He dominated the game since start and did not give any chance to the Canadian wrestler to bounce back in the game.

Punia has won the Gold medal in Men’s Freestyle 65kg Wrestling. With this the total number of medals won by India in CWG has gone to 22.

Punia was extremely dominant in the first period and did not let his opponent score. He finished with a 4-0 lead over McNeil at the end of the first period.

McNeil tried to make a comeback with 2 points but then Punia again took the charge and lead in the scoreboard.

Punia had reached the final after defeating George Ramm of England in the semi-final. He defeated his English opponent 10-0.
