Golden girl Vinesh Phogat gets engaged on airport

New Delhi : Golden girl Vinesh Phogat has got engaged on airport to her long-time boyfriend Somvir Rathi on Saturday soon after she landed back in India from Jakarta, where she became the first Indian woman to win gold in Asian Games in wrestling. 

Vinesh and Somvir exchanged the rings outside the arrival gates at IGI airport in the presence of their families and friends. The cake cutting ceremony was also held at the airport.

Recently, there were reports about her closeness to star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra which was ruled out by both the players. 

Talking about the engagement and controversy, Vinesh said: "No, it was nothing like that. For me, that article involving Neeraj didn’t exist. Somvir and I are friends for 7-8 years and the whole country knows about our relationship."
