Pune : Every time Virat Kohli swings his bat well, a new record is made. Adding another feather to his name is his double century, 7th of his career, against South Africa on the second day of second Test at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

With his latest double century he left behind legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag who have six double centuries to their names.

Virat Kohli crossed his 200-run-mark in just 295 balls.

With the feat he also became the first Indian captain to hit a double century against South Africa. The two other Indian players who have scored the double ton against South Africa are Virender Sehwag (319 in Chennai in 2008) and Mayank Agarwal (215 in Vizag in 2019).

In the process of scoring brilliant 200 runs, the Indian run machine also completed 7000 runs in the Test matches.

Virat Kohli has been the captain of Team India since 2014, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni had voluntarily gave up the captaincy and wished to continue in the team as a regular player.
