New Delhi : National Anti-doping Agency (NADA) gave clearance to Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav on Monday, leading him one-step closer to Rio Olympics. Parent body WADA will now review the decision and give its verdict on whether Yadav will participate in the summer games or not. World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Communications Coordinator Maggie Durand said that it has requested the NADA to send the case file so that it can review it. Parveen Rana will replace Narsingh in 74 kg category if WADA doesn’t allow him in the game.

Key Points:

  • Narsingh Yadav to participate in Rio Olympics only after WADA gives clearance

  • He has prepared himself for the 74 kg wrestling category

  • NADA had given him a clean chit in doping case on Monday

  • Parveen Rana may replace him if he fails to get green signal from WADA

  • WADA has asked NADA to send the case report as soon as possible

  • We requested the case file following the decision and will review the case. We have no further comment for now: Maggie Durand, WADA

  • Rio Olympics is all set to begin from August 5.
