Xiaomi to launch its first RedmiBook laptop in India today: Price, specification and more
New Delhi : Xiaomi is all set to launch its first laptop in India under the RedmiBook series scheduled to be launched on Tuesday (February 11).
This comes after the company released a teaser video on Twitter presenting the edges of a laptop. This is further corroborated by Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain's tweet talking about a meeting with Intel India MD, Prakash Mallya, where Jain stated that the two spoke about laptops, among other things.
From a long time, Mi fans had been asking the company to launch the Redmi Notebook and RedmiBook laptops in India.
In China, the RedmiBook 13 was launched on December 2019. It features a 13.3-inch, full HD display, with 250nits peak brightness of the display panel.
Talking about the power source, the laptops will run on the 10th generation Intel Core processors, with multiple SKUs using Core i5 and Core i7 configurations.
What makes the laptops attractive is the inside configuration which is comprised of 8GB RAM and 512 GB SSD harddisk coupled with a mid-range Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics card with 2GB of graphics memory.
The RedmiBook 13 also features Harman-branded speakers with DTS Audio flaunted on it, and its connectivity chops include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and dual-band Wi-Fi.
The laptop's 40W-hr battery claims to deliver 11 hours of video playback and 8.5 hours of web browsing, which is acceptable as well.
In China, the RedmiBook 13 has been launched at a price tag of CNY 4,499, which roughly translates to 40,000 INR. It is expected that the laptop will be launched in India at a price tag near Rs 50,000.
At this price, the RedmiBook 13 will face competition from the likes of the Lenovo IdeaPad S540 and the Asus VivoBook 14 in India.
