New Delhi : Earlier there were speculations that Apple may use OLED display in their upcoming iPhone 12 series and now a report has surfaced online claiming that the speculation has turned into a reality.

Apple had earlier used the OLED display on its iPhone X which was launched back in 2017. But, this is the first time when Apple will be using the OLED screen across all its models in the new iPhone lineup.

Major smartphone makers like Samsung, OPPO, Huawei and Vivo already use OLED display in their premium phone segments.

The report further adds that Apple iPhone will continue to have a notch on top of the display for housing the Face ID sensors. This is because Apple was not able to integrate the module into the display itself.

The company is expected to launch four variants this time, which include iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 12 will have a 5.4-inch display while the Max and Pro models will have a 6.1-inch screen. The top-end model in the form of the iPhone 12 Pro Max will reportedly have a 6.7-inch display.

It has been learned that China based display maker BOE will be supplying the OLED displays for the iPhones. It already provides display for MacBook and iPads.
