Apple to assemble iPhone 6s Plus in Bengaluru soon

Bengaluru : Apple will soon start assembling iPhone 6s Plus in its Bengaluru plant in Karnataka, said a media report.

Reliable sources told International Business Times, India that the assembling process will begin in a month or two.

According to the report, Wistron (Apple's supply partner) has also started a trial run of assembling the iPhone 6s Plus (5.5 inch model), while the full-fledged process will begin after some time.

But the source told IBTimes India, that the model, which the company is planning to roll out from the Bengaluru plant is the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s model and not the iPhone 6s Plus.

The decision comes after the government of India hiked custom duty on imported smartphones from 10% to 20%, leading to a price hike of iPhone devices in the country.

Apple future production in India

Though Apple has decided to assemble iPhone 6s in India, there are no plans for the company to start building their new devices in India anytime soon.

Bad News

Even if the company starts building their devices in India, import of parts will keep making cost high for the device and no much benefit will reach to the buyer.
