Desh Ka Smartphone: Xiaomi launches budget Redmi 5A in India
New Delhi : Branded as 'Desh Ka Smartphone' Xiaomi in exclusive partnership with Flipkart launched Redmi 5A in India at an attractive price of Rs 5,999 for 2GB RAM variant; additional Rs 1000 discount is being offered for the first five million customers, taking the effective price down to Rs 4,999.
The company has also launched a 3GB RAM variant of the smartphone that will be available at Rs 6,999 in India.
With battery backup as one of its prime USPs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A will have a standby time of up to 8 days. "Offering up to eight days of standby time, Redmi 5A is a successor to the hugely-popular Redmi 4A," said Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India, in a statement.
Specifications and Features:
Xiaomi Redmi 5A is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset and houses a 3,000mAh battery. Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch fully-laminated HD display. There is a dedicated MicroSD card slot that can expand the memory up to 128GB along with comes with two SIM card slots that support simultaneous use 4G network.
Camera: In terms of camera specifications, the device houses a 13MP primary camera with an aperture of f/2.2, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and flash and 5MP selfie camera.
Operating system: It runs the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system (OS).
Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be exclusively sold online of Flipkart and mi.com. However, the customers can buy this device at offline stores from December 7 onwards.
The smartphone has been launched in three color shades - dark grey, gold and rose gold.
