NaMo application crosses 1 crore downloads on Android

New Delhi : Narendra Modi application has received over 1 crore downloads on the Android's Play Store. The feat has been achieved in a time duration of four years. The official app was launched by the Prime Minister, enabling people to share their opinion and views directly with the government.

Surpassing controversies like why an official application was launched for Prime Minister, raising questions on its credibility for not propogating political agendas, the application has received a huge support from the people of India.

In one of the recent allegations, the opposition alleged that the app in the election year is being used to spread false propaganda against BJP’s political rivals by some users.

In the app's 'My Network' feature, News Feed comes from a handful of accounts.

This section works just like a social media platform where people can like and comment on the posts. It also allows users to “repost” and share the post on other social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Twitter among others, making it easier for the users to spread the word seen on the app.

The application is majorly used to inform people about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government's activity, including his radio program 'Mann Ki Baat'. However, the “Merchandise” section in the app is already selling wristbands and T-shirts with “NAMO AGAIN” tag, all apparently in preparation for the upcoming general election.
