Nokia 9.2 may release in first half of 2020, HMD Global to bring foldable phone soon

New Delhi : Days after reports claimed that the Nokia 9.2 will be launched as the successor of Nokia 9; new information has popped in regards to the release date of the new smartphone device. If the latest reports are to be believed then the Nokia 9.2 may hit the Indian markets sometime between the first half of 2020.

Another report claimed that HMD Global is said to be working on the foldable smartphones too, but they will be launched either in the late 2020 or early 2021.

Meanwhile, it is said that the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC will be powering the device. It will not be showcased at MWC 2020 in Barcelona next month but is in the pipeline for the later part of the first half of this year, reports Nokia-focussed blog Nokia Power User, citing an anonymous tipster.

Earlier, some reports had claimed that the HMD Global will be bringing Nokia 9.1 as the successor of Nokia 9; but later the Finnish company dropped the plans and started focusing on the Nokia 9.2 with the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC.

While, Nokia 9 PureView had the light camera technology, the Nokia 9.2 would come with a big sensor from an old camera partner such as Toshiba.

It is expected that the price tag of the Nokia 9.2 will be in accordance to the Nokia 8.

Alongside the Nokia 9.2, a separate report from Nokiamob.net has mentioned that HMD Global is in plans to bring its foldable phone. The foldable phone is said to arrive sometime in either late 2020 or early 2021 with a clamshell design similar to what we saw on the Motorola Razr (2019) last year.
