Delhi : On Wednesday, HMD Global, the company that makes Nokia smartphones, unveiled two new colors for the Nokia 2660 Flip phone. According to the firm, this rebirth of the original Nokia flip phone is a response to the growing desire from Generation Z and Millennials for contemporary feature phones.

HMD Global, the manufacturer of Nokia smartphones, reported that its market share for flip phones doubled YoY (2021 vs 2022) and anticipates further growth in 2023 as people disconnect from their smartphones in favor of re-engaging with their communities.

Ravi Kunwar, vice president of HMD Global for India and the APAC region, commented on the launch: "We've all had experiences where a precious life moment was overshadowed by a distracting notification." To restore these treasured and important life moments, we are specifically reintroducing the Nokia 2660 Flip to India.

The Nokia 2660 Flip phones, which were first introduced in 2007, had a clamshell design with a rear camera for taking pictures in the style of the year 2000, a long battery life for weeks of use, and only SMS and call capabilities—the ideal combination for a digital detox. In addition, the traditional snake game is back for extra nostalgia. The 2.8-inch monitor and streamlined user interface also provide simple interaction.

Starting on August 24, Amazon and Nokia's official website will offer the new Nokia 2660 Flip phones in India for a price of Rs 4,699 each. On Amazon, the offer will start at noon.
