Delhi : During the last week or two Samsung's software update team has been working nonstop. Between November 20 and November 26 Samsung updated almost a dozen Galaxy devices to One UI 6. This week, the company is carrying on the tradition by delivering the Android 14/One UI 6 update for the Galaxy A14, which is among its most reasonably priced phones.

The early release of the Android 14 upgrade for the Galaxy A14 is rather unexpected, as Samsung has always pushed lower-end smartphones to the back of the line for new One UI and Android releases. The A14 is receiving the upgrade before flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is great to see such high-quality treatment for an inexpensive Galaxy phone.

The Galaxy A14 5G is the first device to receive the upgrade, but ideally the LTE variant won't lag too much. The firmware on the device will be updated to A146BXXU2CWK9 after installing the update. The One UI 6 update for the Galaxy A14 5G is just around 1.8GB in size, which is obviously less feature-rich than the updates for Samsung's flagship and mid-range phones. This is to be anticipated, given the Galaxy A14 duo runs One UI Core, a more basic version of One UI designed for low-cost handsets.

The update has been available in India for a while now, but given that this is a low-cost phone, it is unclear when other nations will receive the update. However, you can download it via the phone's Settings > Software update menu whenever it happens. For a manual upgrade, you can also download the complete Android 14 firmware from our archives; however, this will require a USB-C connector and a Windows PC.
