Delhi : OPPO just revealed its latest smartphone in the Reno series, the OPPO Reno8 T 5G. Its sporty and sleek design, which is priced at Rs 29,999, will undoubtedly appeal to aficionados of curved-edge displays and blingy devices.

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G only has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There are also two colour options: Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black. The one we tested is the former, and it looks extremely cool, especially because it changes colour depending on the angle.

Review of the OPPO Reno8 T 5G: Design and Display

Smartphones with curved edges are popular because they are easier to hold in the hand. This phone is also exceptionally light and elegant, weighing only 171 grammes and measuring 7.7mm thick. It has an attractive plastic back and metal-finish frame. I used the OPPO Reno8 T 5G for a couple weeks and did not see any fingerprint flaws. However, cases are recommended for the device's safety. On the back, we have a bulging camera bump, which is becoming increasingly common on devices with huge camera notches.

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 950 nits and a screen resolution of 1080X2412 pixels, as well as a refresh rate of 120Hz. Even in direct sunshine, the display is easy to operate. It also has a 10-bit colour depth, which means the display is incredibly bright. The whole viewing experience of the device is quite fantastic, whether watching movies or playing video games. The screen-to-body ratio of 93% is the frosting on the cake. The stereo speaker setup enhances the viewing experience by providing superb audio output.

OPPO Reno8 T 5G Battery and Charger Review

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G has a 4,800mAh battery that enables 67W rapid charging. According to the corporation, charge cycles have been extended to 1,600. According to OPPO, this is more than double the industry average of only 800 recharges. The battery can easily last more than one day in daily use. Even if you watch movies and play video games frequently, this device has enough battery to last the full day.

Performance of the OPPO Reno8 T 5G

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC powers the OPPO Reno8 T 5G. While the device starts with 8GB of RAM, it also has RAM expansion technology that allows it to add another 8GB of RAM on the fly. However, this will only be required during intense game sessions. Otherwise, the 8GB RAM is adequate for daily chores. It also comes pre-installed with Android 13 and the ColorOS 13 skin. We did detect some bloatware pre-installed.

I tried playing video games like Apex Legend and Crazy Car Racing and had a good time. Keep in mind that this gadget is not intended for dedicated mobile gamers, as the experience of playing graphics-intensive games on this smartphone is disappointing.

OPPO Reno8 T 5G Camera Review

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G includes a triple camera arrangement at the back, including a 108MP primary camera. It comes with a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP microsensor.

The device is capable of creating high-quality photos, particularly in bright sunlight. All of the photos were clear and bright. Yet, in low-light settings, the image quality may be better. On the front, there is a 32MP sensor for selfies. This, too, has the potential to provide some high-quality results.

The 2MP micro sensor is extremely efficient, and you'll rarely find a microlens camera that highlights such minute details. The sample shot above clearly shows every stitch of the sweater I was wearing. However, this camera capability is rarely used. In terms of video, double-view video recording can be extremely useful, particularly for vloggers. Overall, the videography quality is average.

OPPO Reno8 T 5G Review: Final Thoughts

The OPPO Reno8 T is a complete package for people wishing to upgrade to a device that looks stylish, has a curved display, is simple to hold, can take good images, and has a solid battery backup with quick charging.
