Delhi : The JioBharat B1, a new 4G feature phone from Reliance Jio, is available for Rs 1,299 and has been introduced. Both the telecom operator's website and Amazon have the item available for purchase.

It has a large 2.4-inch display, unlimited calls inside India, support for UPI and QR code scanning with the JioPay app, a camera on the back, and access to over-the-top (OTT) apps like JioCinema and JioSaavn. Additionally, it has an FM radio function. It runs on a 2000mAh battery.

To hasten the 250 million feature phone users who still rely on feature phones to switch to internet-enabled phones, Jio introduced the inaugural JioBharat Phone in July for Rs 999.

250 million mobile users in India are still confined to feature phones from the 2G era. Especially in this day and age, when having access to technology is essential for improving one's standard of living and financial security, these feature phones do not offer internet connectivity, Jio has previously stated.

In addition, Jio introduced the "Jio Bharat Platform," which allows other phone manufacturers to introduce Jio Bharat devices. Apart from Reliance Retail, Karbonn is the pioneer brand to utilize this particular platform.

In contrast to another operator's Rs 179 package for phone calls and 2GB data, the telecom had introduced a Rs 123 monthly plan for unlimited voice calls and 14 GB internet data.
