WhatsApp to introduce 'Delete for Everyone' feature in latest update

New Delhi : Have you every sent a wrong message to someone on WhatsApp and regretted moments later? Now, you may have the option to call back the sent message even after it has been delivered.

The Facebook-owned chat service is about to launch a new feature - 'Delete for Everyone' allows users to delete sent messages.

The feature lets people call back messages sent on individual chats as well as WhatsApp groups, and is available across different platforms, such as Android, iPhone and Windows Phone.

To delete the sent message, a user must select the message, click on trash icon, where upon two option will pop - Delete for me or Delete for Everyone, select later, if you wish the message to be called back.

Once the messages that have been successfully deleted for everyone will be replaced with "This message was deleted" in your recipients' chats. Similarly, if you see "This message was deleted" in a chat, it means that the sender deleted their message for everyone.

The feature works only within seven minutes of sending the message and sender and receiver must have the updated version of WhatsApp installed in their device.

If the reciever has an old version then they may continue to see the messages.

The new button is among a slew of new features the company is introducing this year. According to reports, the WhatsApp also plans to introduce an in-chat wallet, which will allow users to exchange money without leaving the chat window.
