Apple has launched iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus with new glass and aluminium design and A11 Bionic chip designed for augmented reality (AR) experience. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus come with 64GB and 256GB capacity models starting at Rs 64,000 at Apple Authorised Resellers.

The devices, made out of the most durable glass ever in a smartphone, will be available in three colours -- space grey, silver and gold. iPhone 8 Plus starts at Rs 73,000 for 64GB. The 256GB variant will cost Indian users Rs 86,000. People can pre-order the devices from September 15 and the phones will be available from September 29.

Apple-designed accessories including leather and silicone cases in a range of colours will be available starting at Rs 3,100. Lightning Docks in colour-matching metallic finishes will also be available for Rs 4,700.

The new 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina HD displays with the addition of True Tone adjust the white balance of the display to match the surrounding light for a more natural, paper-like viewing experience.

The new camera also delivers the highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone with better video stabilisation, 4K video up to 60fps and 1080p slo-mo up to 240fps.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus - both still have home button intact -- feature new sensors. The lenses feature f1.8 and f2.8 apertures (which is brighter than the 7 Plus telephoto) in the iPhone 8 Plus.

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has launched its flagship with edge-to-edge display and mid-range U11 Life smartphones in india at Rs 51,990 which is touted to have the highest-rated smartphone camera in the world.

The 5.5-inch HTC U11 -- which will be available in India with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The glass back design enables a world-class wireless charging solution. Wireless charging works with the established Qi ecosystem.

The device comes equipped with features like 'Edge Sense' that opens the doors to a whole new world of phone interactions. The U11 camera has achieved DxOMark 90 score, making it the highest-rated smartphone ever in the DxOMark history. 4. Nokia 8 smartphone

HMD Global on has launched Nokia 8 smartphone at Rs 36,999 which is available in India from October 14. The phone features 13MP + 13 MP rear camera system with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto focus (PDAF), IR range finder and dual tone flash.The selfie camera has a 13MP sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture.

The device has "Dual-Sight" video or "Bothie" feature that lets simultaneously livestream a selfie while also using its main camera, in a splitscreen visual, for both photos and videos. 

There is a 5.3-inch QHD IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with stock Android Nougat operating system (OS). A 3090mAh battery powers the device which is comes with Qualcomm "Quick Charge" compatibility.

There is 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory with MicroSD card slot to expand storage up to 256GB. The device boasts three industry-first features for Android smartphones, including a collaboration with ZEISS optics, Nokia 'OZO Audio' and 'Dual-Sight' mode.

South Korean giant LG has has unveiled a premium-segment G6 smartphone that is water-resistant and comes with a new display format, exceptional screen-to-body ratio, a wide-angle camera and more.

At Rs 51,990, LG G6 has to compete with Apple iPhone 7, OnePlus 3T, Google Pixel and the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S8 -- a real tough fight in the premium space.

6. Google Pixel 2 smartphones

Google Pixel 2 smartphones have been code-named 'Taimen' and 'Walleye' and the bigger variant will have a 5.99-inch display. The devices will run on Snapdragon 835 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The note said the devices will have a glass and metal finish and might contain a single rear camera with dual LED flash.

The 'Walleye' or the smaller Pixel 2 will have 4.97-inch display with a resolution of 1080p. This device will also run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

The smartphone is powered by top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and 2,700mAh battery. Pixel 2 comes pre-loaded with Google Assistant and a new feature called "Active Edge" that works when the phone is squeezed.

Other features include front-firing stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 2.4/5GHz 802.11 a/b/c/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The phone uses an aluminium unibody with a hybrid coating, and is IP67 water and dust resistant.

7. iPhone X smartphone

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched V7 with 24MP selfie and 16MP rear camera for Rs 18,990. The device with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM has 5.7 HD "FullView" display and houses 3000mAh battery. The device comes with "Moonlight Glow" and "Face Access" features.

It has 3,000mAh battery that was enough for a day's run. Vivo V7 has Funtouch OS 3.2 on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with bloatware. The device has iPhone influence on the user interface.

The V7 also has a face-recognition feature, something that Apple is banking upon in its "super-premium" iPhone X to unlock the device.For a regular user, Vivo V7 is a very good performer and can handle tasks without puting much burden on the hardware.

9. Moto X4 smartphone

Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched Moto X4 in India at a starting price of Rs 20,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will cost Rs 22,999. 

There is a 12MP + 8MP primary camera that comes with "Dual Autofocus Pixel" technology and a 16MP selfie camera with a low-light mode.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) LTPS IPS display with a pixel density of 424ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. 

The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at up to 2.2GHz, coupled with up to 4GB of RAM.Moto X4 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset and IP68 water and dust resistance. The device is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery which comes with a 15W "TurboPower".

The basic design is similar to Moto G5 Plus, with a 5.2-inch Full-HD display, thick bezels on the top and bottom on front and a dual-camera set-up at the back -- all housed in a unibody metal and glass body.

Chinese telecom giant Huawei's sub-brand Honor has launched its flagship Honor 7X smartphone which gives full-screen viewing experience at Rs 12,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs 15,999 for the 64 GB variant.

The Honor 7X is the first smartphone to feature Honor "FullView Display", a 5.93 inch edge-to-edge, bezel-less screen design that provides good display quality and achieves a high screen-to-body ratio, meaning that users can enjoy striking images on a sleek, compact phone which comfortably fits into the palm.

In addition, the bezel-less screen and dual-lens (16MP + 2MP) rear camera with large aperture and fast focusing means DSLR-level photo quality and shooting experience is at selfie lovers' fingertips.

With the "Phase Detection Auto Focus" (PDAF) technology and the latest algorithms, the device enables focusing in as fast as 0.18 seconds.
