New Delhi : Xiaomi has made an announcement that its MIUI 9 ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for all devices in India. This Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has announced the release of incremental information dubbed MIUI 9.5 all across the globe. The universal stable ROM for MIUI 9.5 has started unfolding out for selected smartphones like Redmi, Mi MIX and Mi Max series. The smartphone maker Xiaomi plans to release the updated version for 30 devices, possibly in next few months.

Xiaomi  has mentioned that MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM is currently rolling out for Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 3 powered by Qualcomm chipset, Redmi Note 4 with Qualcomm (also known as Redmi Note 4X in select markets), Redmi 4A, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max and Mi Max Prime smartphones. The update will be supplied to owners of aforesaid devices via over-the-air update (OTA).

Sources confirmed that the update is released in a phase-wise manner. Users have to keep calm to see the update on their devices, if not showing right now. The MIUI thread clarifies the required time for the release of this version to all the devices. In addition to above mentioned devices, Xiaomi has plans to release the update for Redmi 3S, Redmi 4 Prime and Redmi Note 4 powered by MediaTek processor by the end of March, this year.

Other models like Redmi Note 5A Prime/Redmi Y1, Redmi Note 5A/Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5, Mi Max 2, Mi 5, Redmi 4X, Mi 6 and Mi MIX 2 are expected to get the update in early April. Xiaomi plans to release MIUI 9.5 for Mi Note 2, Mi 5S, Mi MIX, Mi Note 3, Mi 5S Plus, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 3, Redmi 4, Mi 3 and Mi 4 in mid April.

Xiaomi is presenting a tentative time period for the release of MIUI 9.5 for its devices. However, the schedule is uncertain and may subject to change. There are chances that new technical bugs will get detected thereby affecting the release for other devices. For instance, in the case of MIUI 9 release, Xiaomi stumbled upon bugs at the last stage, which ultimately affected release of the ROM globally for other devices, as well.

It is admirable that Xiaomi is upgrading even its older devices that were released three years back. Conversely, the MIUI 9.5 is still based on Nougat and will be two generation old when Google announces Android P in the third quarter of 2018.
