New Delhi : The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to launch its new Redmi model in the global market. The heavily teased phone has become the point of discussion in the tech market after the company has confirmed that it will feature a 48-megapixel sensor, a dual rear camera setup and will come with three color variants. A source close to the development has shared some facts about the Redmi 48 megapixel phone and we are sharing all the information with you.

The Xiaomi Redmi event will begin at 2pm local time (11.30am IST), and users can register for notification on the company's official website. We can expect a live stream to be held as well, at the same time. If reports are to be believed then the company has plans to launch its Redmi Note 7 today.

As per the Redmi phone listing on JD.com, the pre-booking price of the Redmi phone with 48 megapixel sensor is CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 102,300). However, this is a dummy price and the actual price tag is yet to be confirmed.

Xiaomi recently announced that Redmi would now operate as an independent brand in itself, and this upcoming phone will be the first to launch, after the sub-brand announcement. The Redmi device is also expected to be sold exclusively online.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared photos of the device recently, and the photos confirmed that the phone will come in three colour options - Black, Blue, and Pink. The black variant will see a matte finish, while the other two will see gradient finishes.

The teaser photos suggest that the device will sport a rear fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup aligned vertically. Other source suggests that it has a waterdrop-shaped notch, and power and volume buttons is placed on the right edge of the device.
