Delhi : Android 14 was rumored to eventually launch on October 4, the day of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro reveal, when the last time we heard about Google's delayed release of it. It was simply a rumour back then. It's kind of confirmed now.

Only sort of, as this isn't really an announcement, and we won't be expecting one from Google until the actual event. What we have is a schedule from Canadian carrier Telus outlining when its products would start receiving software updates. Additionally, "Android U" was reported as being released on October 4 under all Pixel devices beginning with the Pixel 4a.

Android Upside Down Cake, the internal name for Android 14, is abbreviated as Android U. And because they no longer state so, we will declare that all of the aforementioned Pixel listings said that they will receive this update on October 4.

Most likely, someone at Google saw that this was being discussed on several web forums and requested that Telus delete the material, which the carrier duly did. Of course, it's just our opinion; we can't know for sure what happened, so there's still a possibility, however remote, that the information itself was incorrect.

We'll know out in less than 48 hours, which is wonderful news. Keep an eye out for that, and we'll keep you updated if Google makes a big deal out of unveiling Android 14 on stage at its event if it does launch on October 4.
