Delhi : The renowned video streaming service JIOCINEMA, which earned notoriety by broadcasting the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), is apparently preparing to switch to a paid membership business model. After the IPL 2023 is over, the corporation is reportedly going to start charging spectators Rs 2 every day.

According to reports, the corporation will provide three distinct options, including the daily, gold, and platinum plans. Additionally, according to a Reddit user's post, the one-day plan would only cost a user Rs 2, and that too after the 93 percent discount. However, Rs 29 has been chosen as the pricing.

The Gold Plan, on the other hand, would cost roughly Rs 299 but would be initially accessible to all users for Rs 99. According to a report, the Platinum Plan, which is an annual plan, would cost Rs 1,199 but will initially cost only Rs 599. The idea is to provide 4K content with an ad-free experience similar to Netflix and be accessible on up to 4 devices.

Earlier, Jyoti Deshpande, president of Reliance's media and video division, told Bloomberg that the platform would include more than 100 films and TV episodes and would now directly compete with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

She added that the platform's new material would be accessible before the IPL Final in 2023. Regarding tariffs, she remarked that the business intended to keep them straightforward for the audience.

In the meantime, the company is observing a huge throng on the site as a result of the ongoing IPL 2023 season. The business is offering free streaming of India's most well-liked T20 cricket competition for the first time. The firm also provides commentary in a number of other languages, including Bhojpuri, English, Hindi, and others.
