Google Launches Assistant-enabled Home speakers

New Delhi : If you are looking for an entry-level smart speaker, then Google store is here to offer you its newly designed Home Mini. It’s here to defeat the Amazon’s Echo Dot and has already announced a hot battle in the tech world.

Take a look at the features of Google’s Home Mini for a while you make your final verdict.

Physical Appearance of Google Home Mini

Google Home Mini has compact attractive design to attract several eyeballs.

It is small hockey-puck-sized device that can easily fit in the palm of the hand.

As the name suggest, its mini design will allow users to install it on the bedside table or desktop.

This Google device is available in chalk and charcoal colour options

Spectators will notice the fabric-covered cushion on the top and the matte plastic on the bottom half.

Technical Features of Google Home Mini

Google Home Mini is touch-enabled and the volume can be controlled by placing the finger on the left and right side of the speaker.

There is a row of four LEDs on the top and they will light up when it recognize the human voice. But users must be sure to speak the magic words “Hey Google”

Google Home Mini uses a micro-USB port to get power, just like the Amazon Echo Dot does.

The Home Mini can be used to control movies and playback by voice when connected to my Google Chromecast.

You can ask the Home Mini to play YouTube or Netflix and the content will appear right on the TV.

The Home Mini works with the Google Chromecast Audio as well. It can play music from Google Play Music, Gaana, and Saavn.

How to install Google Home Mini

Setting up the Google Home Mini is not a big deal, at all. Before you take the device out of the box, it is necessary to download the Google Home app from either the Play store or Apple App store. It is necessary to choose the Wi-Fi network you would like your Google Home Mini to connect to, after which the app on the phone will guide you with step-by-step instructions.

The Wi-Fi-enabled Google Home Mini can do everything like set alarms, answer your questions, read news, connect to Saavn and other streaming services, all by using your voice. The main objective behind the Assistant-enabled Home speakers is to promote its voice-activated search. Now, instead of typing your query over your mobile handset/laptop, you will just need to speak to get the desired results.

For now, Google Home Mini supports English Speaking only but Google says it will add the Hindi language support sometime later this year.

Google Home Mini is available at Rs 4,499 and is directly challenging the recently launched Amazon Echo Dot. It looks like the war in smart speaker segment has started. Before you invest your pocket, make your best decision.
