Delhi : Users can now forward media with captions on WhatsApp thanks to a fresh feature. With this upgrade, users no longer need to manually add contacts each time they want to re-share or forward photographs with captions to them. Users were only able to share media with the original caption and could not alter it, hence this service had a constraint.

The ability for users to forward messages with captions on WhatsApp is currently being updated. With the latest update, users may now add descriptions to forwarded pictures, videos, GIFs, and documents that have captions.

Wabetainfo, a website that keeps up with all the latest news regarding the instant messaging service owned by Meta, reported that WhatsApp has updated its "forward media with caption" feature to let users add captions to forwarded pictures, videos, GIFs, and documents. The update, version 2.23.8.22, has been sent out to Android beta testers, and it is anticipated that after testing in next app upgrades, it will be accessible to everyone.

Users who struggle to remove subtitles from media files they want to forward on WhatsApp will benefit from this new capability. Users will now be able to add their own descriptions to transmitted photos, videos, GIFs, and documents thanks to this upgrade.

If the present caption is inaccurate or the user wishes to provide another description, this can be quite helpful. With this update, WhatsApp is enabling users to share media on the network in a more personal and meaningful way.

Users can now add additional captions in place of the ones that are already there to offer extra information to the sent message. Without referencing the original caption or making it clear that it is not the original message, the new caption will be sent as a separate message.

However, several beta testers have mentioned having trouble downloading or viewing videos on the platform. These bugs are anticipated to be fixed in the upcoming version for WhatsApp.

The companion mode feature was recently included to WhatsApp's Android version, which was made available to all beta testers. This functionality was previously only accessible to a small number of beta testers. A second phone can be linked to a user's current WhatsApp account through companion mode, an expansion of WhatsApp's multi-device capability. This implies that users can now simultaneously access their WhatsApp accounts on two distinct phones.
