Today, registered developer beta testers can download iOS 16.3 beta 2. By navigating to the Settings app, then General, then Software Update, you'll be able to apply the update as it spreads over the air.

The second iOS 16.3 beta hasn't yet been made available to public beta testers, but that should change this week.

For its other platforms, Apple is beta testing the following changes in addition to iOS 16.3:

  • iPadOS 16.3 beta 2

Apple is aiming for a release date for these updates either in February or early March, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

What's new in iOS 16.3?

It has been about a month since the initial beta of iOS 16.3 was released. So yet, there aren't many brand-new additions or modifications to the update. Using physical security keys to protect Apple IDs is one of the updated's new features. This indicates that the second tier of two-factor authentication for your account will be provided by a physical hardware device that you can set up.
