Delhi : In the forthcoming iPhone 15 series, Apple will allegedly incorporate the proximity sensor into the "Dynamic Island" region (the pill and notches at the top of the display).

Ming-Chi Kuo, an industry analyst for Apple, claims that the proximity sensor "would be integrated into the "Dynamic Island" area in "iPhone 15" series, instead of the notch like in the iPhone 14."

While all iPhone 15 models share the same Dynamic Island design as the iPhone 14 Pro, Kuo noted that the proximity sensor is located differently.

The proximity sensor is situated below the display on the iPhone 14 Pro (outside the dynamic island). The dynamic island area of the iPhone 15 series, in comparison, contains the proximity sensor inside of it, and is essentially unaltered," he continued.

When the user holds the phone close to their ear, the proximity sensor recognizes this and turns off the screen.

Meanwhile, it is said that Apple would not give iPhones the under-display Face ID capability.
