More solid colours to come as options in WhatsApp Dark mode

New Delhi : Earlier this month, WhatsApp has launched the dark mode theme for its beta users and now, the Facebook-owned company provided an option of chosing solid colours other than black to its beta users. This means when the company will be launching it to the non-beta users, it is likely to come up with additional colour options.

As per a WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has released an updated version 2.20.31 for the beta users on Android. The upgrade allows users to choose from six different colour options such as purple, brown, mustard, sea-green and blue while using the dark theme.

The downside of the update is that only black colour theme will enable you to save the battery and the other colours will not be beneficial.

However, one can only get the WhatsApp beta if they have enrolled for the Android beta program. The program now is closed for entries and users will have to wait till further announcement. For those who have already enrolled for the beta program, you can enable the dark mode by following these simple steps.

In the settings menu under Chats, go to Chat Wallpaper and select Solid Colors. Users also have the option to set images as per their preference.

Meanwhile, the dark mode does not changes the whole outlook of WhatsApp application, it has several benefits out of which the battery consumption is the most talked about.

In dark black mode, the phone emits less lights as compared to the normal mode of WhatsApp, resulting in saving the battery.

Among all the social networking apps, Instagram already has a fully functional dark mode for all its Android and iOS users. To activate the feature, the Android users are required to upgrade to the Android 10 and the iPhone users should have the latest iOS 13.
