OnePlus and Realme's exit marks a shift in India's Smart TV market
OnePlus and Realme's exit marks a shift in India's Smart TV market

Delhi : Realme and OnePlus are players in the smart TV market in addition to smartphones and accessories. Current reports state that both companies have ceased manufacturing and selling smart TVs in India. OnePlus and Realme have reportedly opted to leave the television sector, according to industry sources, but the reasons for the same are not yet obvious. The corporations have not yet released an official statement on the subject.

Given that Realme and OnePlus TVs were apparently doing well in the smart TV market, the revelation is unexpected. OnePlus was one of the smart TV manufacturers with the highest growth last year, according to a Counterpoint Research report for 2022. In 2022, Xiaomi dominated the Indian smart TV market.

OnePlus smart TVs are still available for purchase in India through a number of channels, including the OnePlus website, Amazon, Flipkart, and others. Despite the allegations, neither Realme nor OnePlus have denied or acknowledged the stories. We must watch what OnePlus and Realme have in store for the smart TV market. We are inclined to think that OnePlus and Realme would continue to provide after-sale support for their TVs even if they were to leave the market.

Realme and OnePlus TVs will no longer be available in India

Industry insiders cited in an ET Telecom story claim that OnePlus and Realme would stop producing and selling their Google TV-enabled smart TVs in India. OnePlus and Realme, however, will keep making smartphones in the nation.

According to the survey, India's desire for smart TVs has been fueled by the country's growing aversion to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and others. At the Flipkart and Amazon festival discounts, there was a price reduction on the OnePlus and Realme TV models.
