Delhi : In India and abroad, OnePlus just announced the successor to its most popular TWS OnePlus Buds Pro. The new OnePlus Buds Pro 2, which looks similar to its predecessor, contains a slew of new functions. OnePlus' new noise-cancelling earphones are the first to incorporate Google's new spatial audio technology designed for Android users.

DESIGN ONEPLUS BUDS PRO 2

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 costs Rs 11,999 in India and comes in two colours: Obsidian Black and Arbor Green. I used the Obsidian Black edition for more than two weeks, and here's what I think of OnePlus's new premium TWS earbuds. To begin with, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 has a dual-driver configuration (11mm woofer + 6mm tweeter) co-created by Dynaudio, as well as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with three modes and smart ANC to suppress ambient sounds. There is also a transparency function in the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 to improve ambient sounds.

In terms of style and build, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 resembles its predecessor. However, it is still a stylish and comfortable TWS. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 have a stem and silicone ear tips. The earbuds weigh 4.9 grammes apiece, and the charging case weighs 47.3 grammes, making them light and easy to wear for extended periods of time. It is a fantastic choice for people seeking for a TWS for less than Rs 15,000.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 include a long battery life, powerful audio, good connectivity, and other features. The good news is that the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are quite comfortable to wear when completing daily physical activity including as working out at the gym or travelling by metro, bike, or vehicle. The earbuds can be used without danger of them falling out (especially when you travel on public transport). When it comes to comfort, I've used both the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and this OnePlus TWS is by far the finest in terms of comfortability and weight management.

The charging cover now features a Dynaudio logo on the top, as well as on the underside of the lid, immediately below the OnePlus logo. The charging case has a USB Type-C connection on the rear, as well as support for Qi wireless charging. Furthermore, the earbuds are IP55 rated for dust and water protection, and the case is IPX4 rated for water resistance, ensuring that your listening pleasure is not ruined. Overall, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 look great and check all the boxes.

SPECIFICATIONS, FEATURES, AND PERFORMANCE OF THE ONEPLUS BUDS PRO 2

The earphones include Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and can connect to two devices at the same time. Buds Pro 2 uses Google's Fast Pair function to automatically look for nearby connections and connect to Android devices through Bluetooth without exhausting your phone's battery. I tested the earbuds on an iPhone and a Samsung laptop, and the connection was seamless. I recommend that both iOS and Android users use the HeyMelody app for improved control and connectivity.

The 11mm + 6mm design of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 was co-created with Dynaudio to produce deeper, fuller, more textured dynamic bass and crisp, well-balanced highs. These earbuds also include one Dynaudio equaliser setting (EQ) by default and three custom equaliser presets — Bold, Serenade, and Bass.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2's main selling point is Google's new spatial audio technology, which will elevate your listening experience to a whole new level. I tried the spatial audio capability on these buds via Apple Music, and the total experience is indescribable – just saying! The spatial audio feature is fantastic, and it could be the major reason for me, or anyone else, to choose these earphones. The Spatial Audio works well with multi-channel audio files on YouTube as well as simple dual-channel audio.

Furthermore, the improved LHDC 4.0 codec works in the background to ensure flawless Bluetooth audio transmission with superb tone, excellent bass, and clarity. It also includes the Transparency mode, which allows for clearer communications and awareness. The Buds Pro 2 have three microphones on each earbud, which worked perfectly during testing. The calling experience was clear and impressive, from improving noise cancellation to filtering out background sounds.

When it comes to ANC and battery life, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2's Active noise cancellation (ANC) is good for the price.  Those looking for only the ANC earbuds can consider the Samsung Galax Buds 2 Pro. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 contains a 520mAh case battery for battery life. The earbuds have a total battery life of 39 hours when ANC is turned off and 25 hours when ANC is turned on. My battery life experience was fantastic.

VERDICT ON ONEPLUS BUDS PRO 2

The latest OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is a wonderful value-for-money device with features like Google's spatial audio, ANC, Transparency mode, Dynaudio equaliser, and enhanced battery life. The earbuds deliver exceptional sound performance and have the potential to lure music enthusiasts for a low price of Rs 11,999.
