Redmi unveils something unique in its smart TV lineup
Delhi : In India, Xiaomi has unveiled a new, reasonably priced Redmi Smart TV, but this one has a unique feature. Redmi has partnered with Amazon this time and chosen its Fire OS over Android or Google TV and its own Patchwall configuration. For those who are unaware, Redmi already sells its Fire TV line in China.
Redmi Smart Fire TV: Details and Features
With Fire OS 7, the new Redmi Smart Fire TV offers access to thousands of apps, including well-known brands like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, SonyLiv, YouTube, and Amazon Prime video (of course). Moreover, it supports Apple AirPlay and Miracast and offers access to live TV.
It has a metal body and a 32-inch display without bezels. The screen is HD-ready and has a screen-to-body ratio of 95.72 percent along with Redmi's Vivid Picture Engine image processing algorithm (VPE). Moreover, it features ALLM (auto low latency mode).
A 64-bit quad-core processor with Mali G31 MP2 graphics powers the TV. 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM are available. Together with Ethernet compatibility, it also features dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, two HDMI ports (ARC x 1), two USB 2.0 ports, an AV port, a headphone port, and an earphone port.
How can we forget the audio as well? The 20W speakers on the Redmi Smart Fire TV enable Dolby Audio, DTS-HD, and DTS: Virtual X Technology. Moreover, a Redmi remote that includes buttons specifically designated for well-known apps is included. Moreover, it has a button for Alexa and is voice-activated. Priced at Rs 13,999, the Redmi Smart Fire TV competes with models from Vu, Blaupunkt, and other manufacturers. Starting on March 21, it will be sold on mi.com and Amazon India.
