Delhi : India now has access to Reliance's eagerly awaited Reliance JioBook laptop. Although the laptop is still intended for the general public, this is a new version of the Reliance JioBook from last year. The laptop is more streamlined and still uses the JioOS operating system. Users may access the internet while on the road thanks to the laptop's 4G LTE capability.

One of the most cheap laptops on the market, the new JioBook has an MSRP of Rs 16,499 on it. The cost of even the most basic Chromebooks made by HP and others in India is close to Rs 20,000. The deal will start on August 5 through Amazon and Reliance Digital's online and physical outlets. Here are some things you should know about Reliance's low-cost laptop.

  • Reliance has stated that the Reliance JioBook is a retail product from Reliance, not a Jio offering. It means that, despite the "Jio" tag in the name, the laptop will not be sold on the Jio shop online.
  • The laptop is blue in color, with the Jio logo on the lid. Reliance emphasizes the laptop's lightweight construction. It only weights 990 grams.
  • A lightweight design implies a compact design. It has an 11.6-inch anti-glare compact HD display. The screen still has heavy bezels, which is to be expected given the pricing.
  • The laptop supports dual-band Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity. The JioBook is powered by customized software, yet it still supports typical trackpad gestures. Additionally, there are over 75 keyboard movements.
  • In relation to the keyboard, the JioBook has a "infinity" keyboard, which implies that the keys extend to the sides of the laptop. This layout was probably chosen in order to maximize the available area without sacrificing the size of the keys.
  • The new Jio laptop has a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and an octa-core processor. Reliance asserts that customers can complete daily tasks with ease.
  • It has 64GB of storage, which can be increased with an SD card to 256GB.
  • The JioBook is loaded with exclusive apps like Jio TV and JioCloud games because it is a Jio product. With JioBIAN, a Linux-based coding program, users may also learn programming languages like Java, Python, and Pearl. It is unknown if the laptop is compatible with Microsoft programs like PowerPoint and Office.
  • Port choices include an audio jack, HDMI, and USB-A.
  • Along with the JioBook laptop, Reliance also provides free cloud storage with Digiboxx of up to 100GB.
