The phones are anticipated to go on sale in India on August 14 after their unveiling on July 26. Preorders are anticipated to commence on that day as well.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 characteristics and features (to be expected)

A 7.6-inch full-HD (1,812, 2,176 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED primary panel and a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED cover screen are anticipated for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to include a 6.7-inch primary Dynamic AMOLED display with full-HD (1,080, 2,640 pixels) and a 3.4-inch outside display. Users should be able to access Google Messages, YouTube, and Google Maps when using the Galaxy Z Flip 5's larger cover display, which is supposed to be folded.

The book-shaped Galaxy Z Fold 5 appears to have narrow side bezels and a big bottom chin in leaked live photos of the device. Three camera units are visible on the back inside a camera module that is slightly elevated, and an LED flash unit is visible outside the camera module. Three microphones, a speaker grille, and a nearly gapless folding design are also visible in the photographs.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5's most recent hands-on footage and mockup photos showed a larger folder-shaped outer display with two camera modules, but the much anticipated waterdrop hinge didn't appear to be present on the clamshell folding variant. On the right edge of the phone, we can see the volume rocker and power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor, while the SIM card tray slot is on the left. A USB Type-C charging connector appears to be located on the bottom edge.

The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is expected to power the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 both provide up to 12GB and 8GB of RAM, respectively. The phones are anticipated to be released with 256GB and 512GB of storage. One UI 5.1.1, which is based on Android 13, is also expected to come pre-installed on these phones. A 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, a second 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor are anticipated to be included in the Galaxy Z Fold 5's triple rear camera system.

The core inner screen is rumoured to include an under-display 4-megapixel sensor for selfies and video chats, while the cover display is supposed to have a 10-megapixel camera. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is anticipated to have two 12-megapixel cameras: a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide lens. A 10-megapixel sensor will most likely be used by the front camera.

The next Samsung clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be powered by a 3,700mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to have a 4,400mAh battery and weigh 253 grammes. Additionally, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port are anticipated on the phones.

It was previously reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have an IP58 rating for dust and water protection, however a subsequent leak said that the foldables would instead maintain their current IPX8 rating for splash resistance, just like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4.
