New Delhi : Facebook owned WhatsApp has announced that the new group video calling feature is now live for users globally. Users can enjoy four-person video chat on iOS and Android smartphones from today itself. The group calling feature supports up to four people simultaneously, irrespective of their location.

Way back in May during the Facebook’s F8 developer conference, the company has made an announcement that it would bring group calling with both voice and video support later on this year. And, the developers have successfully brought this amazing feature at finger-tips.

Facebook says it engineered the feature to work under less-than-stellar network conditions, so one can video chat a friend or family member from a distant locale so long as the Internet supports. Calls are also end-to-end encrypted, like all chats on the platform.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp announced that it has 1.5 billion monthly active users, so there’s certainly good number of people who are dying to try the new group calling feature out. WhatsApp first launched video chatting in 2016 and voice calling way back in 2014, and research claims that now its users spend a total of 2 billion minutes per day talking on the phone. In any case, you would like to start a group call after grabbing the latest version of the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then go ahead. Enjoy!
