WhatsApp rolls out screen-sharing for video calls, check details
Delhi : The parent company of WhatsApp, Meta Platforms, also announced that users can now make video calls in Landscape mode for a "wider and more immersive viewing." Users of the instant messaging service will now be able to share their displays during platform-based video conversations, according to a new feature for WhatsApp released by Meta Platforms on Tuesday.
Meta The screen-sharing function for WhatsApp was unveiled by CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook. In his article, Zuckerberg stated that WhatsApp would now allow users to share their screens when on video calls.
In a separate news release, Meta detailed how individuals can share their displays during a WhatsApp video call. The IT giant explained, "You can start screen-sharing by clicking on the 'Share' icon and choose between sharing a specific application or sharing the full screen.
The company added: Sharing the screen enables you to offer a live view of your screen during the call, whether you're sharing documents for work, viewing photos with family, organizing a trip, shopping online with friends, or simply assisting parents with tech support. The 'phased' rollout of the screen-sharing feature has begun on Android, iOS, and Desktop. Users might not notice the facilities right away, but they will.
Meanwhile, Meta also revealed a Landscape mode for WhatsApp video conversations in the same press release. You may now make and receive video conversations while your phone is in landscape mode for a bigger and more immersive viewing and sharing experience, the company stated.
