New Delhi : Those who love to exchange messages on WhatsApp will now spend most of their time in this user-friendly app. Ask why? The reason is that, WhatsApp has announced a new feature which will allow users to create their own stickers. The feature will support Android and iOS devices.

WhatsApp in a blog post said “from emoji and camera features to status and animated GIFs, we’re always looking to add new features that make communicating with friends and family on WhatsApp easy and fun. Today, we’re excited to introduce a new way for people to express themselves with stickers.”

If rumours are to believe then several iOS users have already received the update and Android users will soon get the stable version in the coming weeks. In case, you wish to receive the update first before your friends then you need to sign up to be WhatsApp beta user.

WhatsApp beta allows you to use upcoming features before they hit the stable version. You have to keep in mind that it is an unstable version, so you might see a few bugs every now and then.

Once you’ve updated WhatsApp, you can find the stickers icon right next to the emoji and GIF icons in the emoji menu. You will then get three tabs—one with your recent stickers, second with your favourites and the third containing all the stickers. There’s also a “plus” icon in the corner that allows you to add more stickers to WhatsApp via a sticker store.

This new update by WhatsApp will surely attract creative minds that are not happy with the stickers provided by the company and want to create their kind of stickers. However, creating perfect stickers might require some amount of experience with Adobe Photoshop and basic image editing. The stickers need to have a resolution of exactly 512x512 pixels and should have a file size of less than 100kb
