New Delhi : 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan and Afghanistan on Tuesday evening. As per latest reports, 11 people have lost their lives and over 100 have been injured in the natural disaster. The impact of earthquake was also felt in the northern India. People were seen rushing out of their residences during the night after around 10 seconds long shake.

Most of the injuries have been reported after people collapsed, and some of them collapsed because of the shock of the earthquake.

The epicentre of the earthquake has been located in Afghanistan. The earthquake was at such a magnitude that cracks developed in some of the buildings and apartments in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The US Geological Survey has said that the epicentre of the magnitude 6.5 earthquake was 40 kilometres South southeast of Jurm in Afghanistan's mountains - Hindukush region.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has alerted disaster management officials and asked them to be proactive and handle any situation that follows the earthquake.

Earthquake in Delhi-NCR

The effect of 6.6 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan was also felt in parts of northern India. People residing in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jaipur and in up felt the shockwaves. Most of the people were seen rushing out of their buildings after tremors were felt for over 10 seconds.

People also shared videos and photos of the earthquake they felt on the social media. The good news remains that there are no reports of casualties from India.
