Islamic State claims Berlin truck attack, driver still at large

Berlin : In an unintentional mistake, the Berlin cops nabbed an innocent man for alleged truck attack, claimed by Islamic State, in the German capital. The latest information reveals that the man had no involvement in the crime.

Indo-Asian News Agency quoted a high-ranking security official for the information. He also alerted people as the real culprit is still at large and may cause more damage.

"We have the wrong man," Die Welt daily cited a Berlin police official as saying.

"And thus a new situation. The actual perpetrator is still at large and armed, and can inflict more damage."

12 people had lost their lives and nearly 50 people were injured after an ISIS-claimed militant rammed truck into a Christmas market full of shoppers and vendors late on Monday.

All the police and Special Forces units in Berlin have been informed and put on high alert.
