BRICS Summit 2022: India likely to attend China hosted summit

Beijing : Days after China's foreign minister Wang Yi visited New Delhi, India has agreed to attend the upcoming BRICS Summit that will be hosted by China.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin and China's premier Xi Jinping. He will also hold meeting with the leaders of Brazil and South Africa.

The official dates for the summit are yet to be announced but some media reports suggest that it can be June 23-24, 2022.

Last year, India had hosted BRICS summit. It was held virtually in the attendance of all five leaders.

Recently, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi had visited Delhi last month, this was the first visit since LAC stand-off began.
