Brooklyn : More than a dozen people were injured after an unidentified man started shooting at the people at a subway station in New York's Brooklyn. The shooter is yet to be nabbed and active in nearby regions, said local media reports.

The train services at the subway station have been suspended till further notice.

The New York Police Department issued an advisory on social media after the incident. NYPD tweeted: "Due to an investigation, avoid the area of 36th Street and 4th Avenue area in Brooklyn. Expect emergency vehicles and delays in the surrounding area."

In another tweet, it notified that there are no active explosives in the region. They have also asked the witnesses to come forward and contact them.

"In regard to the multiple people shot at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn, there are NO active explosive devices at this time. Any witnesses are asked to call @NYPDTips at #800577TIPS. Please stay clear of the area. More provided information when available."

The concerned authorities have not confirmed yet if this was a terrorist attack or not. Meanwhile, social media is filled with videos shared by people showing commuters coming out of the subway station with blood stains on their cloths.
