Over 2 lakh people in China's eastern province Fujian were evacuated to safety after typhoon Haitang made a landfall at 2:50 a.m. local time on Monday.

Packing wind of a maximum speed of 18 metres per second, the tropical cyclone came after the ninth one Nesat, which landed in the same city on Sunday, Xinhua news agency quoted provincial meteorological observatory as saying.
On Sunday, Typhoon Nesat, the ninth typhoon of the year, made landfall in southeast China's Fujian Province.
