New Delhi : The Chinese Defence Ministry on Wednesday said that the troops along north and south bank of Pangong Lake have started disengagement.

Meanwhile, India is yet to make an official comment on the development. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled in Rajya Sabha to make a statement on the current situation in eastern Ladakh.

"The Chinese and Indian frontline troops at the southern and northern bank of the Pangong Tso Lake start synchronised and organised disengagement from February 10," Senior Colonel Wu Qian, China's defence spokesperson, said in a written statement.

The Colonel said that the development is in accordance to the consensus reached between the two nations after the ninth round of talks.

After the talks, India had said that the 15-hour-long meeting had ended on a positive note and the two side will soon begin disengagement process.
