Dubai: 9-year-old Indian girl wins USD 1 million jackpot
New Delhi : A nine-year-old Indian girl has won a grand jackpot of USD 1 million in Dubai Duty Free’s Millennium Millionaire. Six years back she had won a luxury car in the same event.
Identified as Eliza M, the girl won the prize money on ticket number 0333, reported Khaleeja Times.
Her father, from Mumbai, is living in Dubai from past 19 years; he said that he is a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion since 2004.
With 9 being his lucky number, the man bought a ticket with number 0333 online on the name of her daughter. The girl is no newcomer when it comes to winning, she had won a luxury McLaren Coupe in January 2013, the paper said.
“I have been buying tickets for the USD 1 million promotion since Series 43, and in fact, I have kept that ticket all this time. I never missed buying a ticket for every series including the Double and Multi-Millionaire Promotions,” the girl’s father said.
With the victory, she has become the 140th Indian national to win a million dollars in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion since its inception in 1999.
