New Delhi : Former United States President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer, which has reportedly been spread to his bones, said an official release by his office. According to the statement, the diagnosis was made after a prostate nodule was discovered following Biden’s report of worsening urinary symptoms. Subsequent tests confirmed a high-grade cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating that the disease had metastasized to the bone.

The statement read, “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

Although the cancer is severe, it is reportedly hormone-sensitive, which could make effective treatment possible. The statement added,”While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Upon hearing the news, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed concern over former President Joe Biden’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis and offered his best wishes for a swift recovery.

Sharing a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote,”Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
