G20 Summit: UK PM Rishi Sunak, wife Akshata Murty visit Akshardham Temple

New Delhi : The UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty on Sunday paid a visit to the famous Akshardham Temple in Delhi. Mr Sunak is in Delhi to attend two-day long G20 Summit where a number of key global issues will be discussed.

It must be noted that this is Rishi Sunak's first official visit to India since he has taken over as the Prime Minister of UK.

After offering prayers at the Akshardham Temple, he headed to Rajghat to join the other global leaders gathered to pay their homage to the father of nation – Mahatma Gandhi.

Earlier, on Saturday, PM Rishi Sunak said that he is very proud to have the Hindu roots and he plans to visit temples in India. He had also mentioned that he will also try to visit some restaurants with his wife which they used to go earlier.

UK PM Sunak also exerted that he has immense respect from PM Narendra Modi and for this reason he is providing his full support to make the G20 Summit a success.

On the sidelines of G20 Summit, PM Narendra Modi held a meeting with PM Rishi Sunak and discussed ways to deepen trade linkages and boost investment.
