Here is Azhar's proof, be sensitive to our concerns: India tells China

Beijing : Amid rising pressure on China to lift their technical hold on proposed UN ban on Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar, India provided the nation a proof against him. Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale again took up the issue with China's foreign minister Wang Yi urging him to be sensitive on our concerns in the matter.

The MEA said that here we have provided all proof against Masood Azhar to China and would continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure that terrorist leaders involved in attacks on Indian citizens were brought to justice.

"We have shared with China all evidence of terrorist activities of Jaish-e-Mohammed and its leader Masood Azhar. It is now for the 1267 Sanctions Committee and other authorised bodies of the UN to take a decision on the listing of Masood Azhar," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

During the day long visit of Gokhle in Bejing, the two sides also discussed progress made in India China bilateral relations since the informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in April 2018.

"The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the Indo-Pacific," the government said.
